Hello

I called the helpline on friday and no-one has got back to me yet.I have to get this off to the OR today and just wonder if I could have a few thoughts on whether what I am putting down is ok.

Here goes

rent-550.00
council tax and water-110.00(In scotland comes as one bill)
heating and lighting(electric no gas)-70.00
telephone-50.00
housekeeping 250.00
holiday-20.00
petrol-80.00
car ins-32.00 (includes breakdown cover)
car servicing 25.00
tv license 12.00
car tax 15.00
hairdressing-20.00
dental and optical 25.00
storage 56.00 (I have moved from my own property to furnished flat)
contents ins-10.00
clothes 60.00
parking 30.00
travel to london once a month to visit dependant friend-100.00

total 1515.00 which should leave me disposable income of around 388.00.

Many thanks
Nicki

Nicola,

If you can't find a way to get that £388 of disposable income down to zero you will looking at an IPA/IPO of perhaps 50-70% of that disposable income. This would last 3 years. Of course, you can only put down allowable expenses. Just in case it helps please go to the Insolvency Service website and have a butchers.

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/guidanceleaflets/ipoipa/ipoipa.htm

Also, you could look through the Income and Expenditure Spreadsheet.

Hi Nicola

I was only allowed £185 for housekeeping. Clothes I was allowed £40 and hairdressing £10. I wasn't allowed storage.

I'd definitely put prescriptions on there. I'd say too that if the others are things you spend each month, then you may as well try them. The worst they can do is disallow them. As is so often said on here, if you don't ask, you certainly won't get it.

All the best with it.

I have no option with the storage.I have had to move into furnished accomodation whilst I look for somewhere permanent so this expense is only going to be for six months to a year.I have no other travel expenses to get to work apart from petrol (ie no bus or tube).Do you still think this is unreasonable?

I could probably revise the parking and the hairdressing bit the car servicing and mot is based on my last bill.

Thanks

Hi

The car servicing is a little steep, I don't think they will allow storage costs, and the won't allow the travelling to London expenses, they will probably cut the hairdressing and question the parking and petrol costs

Hi

Its just for one person.

My car insurance includes breakdown cover.I dont have to wear suits for work so no dry cleaning bills.

The amount for car service is based on my last bill for service and mot .I have just realised that should be nearer 20.00 .My last bill was for 180.00 including the mot and that was with a friend doing it.

Re the travel to london, the OR is aware that I have a friend who is dependent on me and that is what I actually spend.

Many thanks

ALso that last bit about travelling to London may be questioned ?
RHB Posted - 27 October 2008 : 08:49:55
25 pounds for servicing a month on a less then 2000 pound car sounds a bit steep?

Hi Nicola,

How many of you is this for? What about presriptions? Breakdown cover? What about dry cleaning if you wear suits for work?
