Posted - 29 October 2008 : 20:48:06 Hi
There are occasions where you would not be required to pay council tax and the shortfall would go into the Br. ( although councils are getting a little sharper in this area now).
It would be more of a usual situation where you were leaving the property.
If you need some peace of mind I am working this evening so you can contact me via my web page & I can call you back.
take care

Posted - 29 October 2008 : 19:35:12 As others have said, this really doesn't sound right at all. Council tax is a priority bill, which you must continue paying. Did they specifically tell you to stop paying council tax?
I do think on this occasion you may benefit from speaking to a professional on the helpline to establish exactly what you've been advised and to ensure you're in possession of accurate info regarding your bankruptcy and your individual circumstances.

Posted - 29 October 2008 : 19:32:54 Hi i am as i have said in a previous post a little concerned to what the BR company have done and are going to do.
Did you have an agreement with the Council tax to pay it and then just stop.
Have you stopped all your bills including essentials.
I do need more information from you in order to proceed.
Thanks
Jo
