Does a BRU/BRO extend the period of your IPA? Or will the IPA still be 3 years even if the BRU/BRO is for longer? Thanks.

I thought that the OR had to have the BRO/U in place by the time you were discharged, and they would only suspend discharge if someone failed to co-operate with them?

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Hi Monkey

Right you are discharged as after 1 year unless the OR is in the process of applying for a BRU/BRO then in that case they can put a hold on your discharge until that is set up.

An IPA does not make your BR last longer, only the payments made into go past your BR year.

If you say go BR on the 10th Sept, an IPA was set up 24th Nov then you would be discharged 10th Sept 09, the IPA if there is one would finish no later than 24th Nov 2011.

Hope that makes sense.

If you get a BRU then you still get discharged your just bound by the rules set out when BR for the time that the BRU has been imposed on you. And that starts once the OR instigates it and not at the time of BR, so it could take say 3 months or more to set up then it would last from that date till the time is up.

LOL
