Posted - 15 November 2008 : 20:38:49 Hi, I am self employed, in the construction industry, and like many others have become victim of the recent economic plight. I have personal debts of around 14000 and a vehicle on hire purchase, I live with relatives and have no real assets. I will be out of work by the first week in December, there is a rumour that things may improve by March/April 09, but this is in no way confirmable, In effect I have payments of over 1000 pm and wil have no way in which to pay them , I feel that BR is my only hope/option , Thanks Steve |

Posted - 16 November 2008 : 03:38:36 Hi Steve
Bankruptcy would seem a quite severe choice especially as you don't know what is around the corner in March 09.
I would suggest you speak to a specialist who could go over ALL of the solutions to debt and get a strategy in place for you.
Without knowing all the facts it is difficult to provide accurate advice but going Br seems hasty. You may wish to set up a VERY MODEST debt management plan for4 months until you have a clearer picture of the future. Then with a better picture you could make a more valued decision
