I was recently discharged. I wonder if anyone can advise on how to build up a good credit score following bankruptcy?

I suppose one thing would be to get on the electoral roll? What aobut prepaid mastercards? I have one but have scarcely used it in 6 months. If i use it and get one or two more do the companies concerned update the credit reference agencies evewn though such card accounts have to be in credit only?

Any other things I can try?

Hello,

I have also got the prepaid mastercard and the credit builder on it, helps to improve your credit score.

You could also get your credit report from one of the follwoing agencies, Experian, CallCredit or Equifax - and then go through it and check that the information is right.

I have just written to all of the creditos that were included in my bankruptcy to say that i have been discharged, i enclosed a copy of the print off of my discharged status from the insolvency register. And asked them to amend their records and to inform the credit agencies that i am now discharged.

I have so far heard back from 3 out of 10 creditors who have updated their records for me, i will get my credit report again in January to see where i stand now.

hope that helps
