Posted - 27 November 2008 : 17:10:15 you will normally be discharged from bankruptcy after 12 months (sometimes more or less depending on sircumstanes) but it will remain on your credit file for 6 years.

your bankruptcy is registered on the government insolvency website for 1 year until discharge but allow 2 to 3 months for them to get around to updating the record.
Your bankruptcy will remain on your credit file for 6 years.
