Posted - 03 December 2008 : 12:45:17 hi there, if I declare bankruptcy, does it affect any property owned by me outside the UK - in another EU country? Can it be repossesed by the debt collectors or sold? thanks?

All assets whether in this country or in another country will have to be made known to the Official receiver so that they can deal with them.
They will look into seeing if there is any equity that can be released for the benefit of your creditors and they will want to know about everything that you have your name on.
Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear, but you must be honest with them and inform them off all properties etc.
