Posted - 10 December 2008 : 15:26:14 I have been declared bankrupt and own my flat jointly with my wife. We have 2 autistic children both of whom are over 18 but totally dependent on us and the carers through our local authority. The trustee has written to me and it appears the next step is to arrange for the sale of the property. Is it possible to appeal to the court to postpone the sale of the property because of the children ?

usually you would be given time to arrange alternative accomodation. There is no set time allowed for you to arrange this but up to a year is quite common.
