Posted - 12 December 2008 : 13:52:52 old joint accounts phone call from bank when i went BR i had a joint account with my wife it was overdrawn and put this down as a debt we have just had a phone call from the bank asking my wife to make an arrangement to pay where do we stand on this my wife did not go BR

I am affraid that your wife is liable for the debt as it was only you that went BR and it goes under joint and several liability i think its called im affraid.
Sorry it may not be want you wanted to hear, if it was joint then the other party now has the whole debt to pay.
