Hi

I went BR on 8th Oct 08. Everything has been going smoothly, i gave in all the info they wanted at the time of speaking to the examiner.

Now today i had a phone call from a man taking over my case and wanting to know about my bank accounts, which account i have my wages paid into, general household expenses and accounts, extent of wages etc.

I am now really worried what is going on, is this what usually happens. I could not get any more info as i was at work and could not really speak, so i have now got to wait till Wednesday.

Just before i went BR i was advised to change banks which i did, then i had wages put into partners account so the bankruptcy would not affect DD and SO etc.

i am worried what will happen to me, what is the worst they can do. I had £35,000 worth of debt 1 loan and 5 credit cards, we lived on these cards alot. we had 4 IVF attempts so we had to find alot of money for that but i have not got proof of where the money came from as we just scraped it together from cards and wages and partners benefit etc. I have sent all the receipts for the treatment in which came to about £20,000.
I feel sick with worry now, why do they always do this just before the weekend.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks for the replys

i spoke to him on monday and he just wanted to ask a few questions. I think i will be getting a BRU as thats what he is looking into. He is waiting to see if he can get some statements from the credit card people and will take it from there, he wanted to know what i spent on which cards etc. I told him to be honest we got in such a muddle with the debt that i could not tell him exactly. I asked the worst case scenario and he said i would have to go in and make a statement and would probably get max 3 years BRU. But if he could not get all the info then i would get nothing it depends on how helpful the cc company are being.

Oh well at least i will be rid of the debt even if i get a BRU. I just want to be able to enjoy life with my very special baby.

Hey Sahara

I would be inclined to agree with Julian - they probable would like to be aware of you and your file in detail.

Hi Sahara,

I wouldn't be too concerned as you have a valid reason for the debt. I wouldn't worry about the questions as the examiner who has taken over your case is just trying to familiarise himself with all the facts.
