you can petition for Br while abroad in certain countries.
you have 2 options :
1 fly back and petition yourself at the high court in London
2 hire a specialist company to assist you in your bankruptcy. they will need to complete a Lasting Power of Attorney which will cost £150 and take about 12 weeks to be authorised - then they can act on your behalf in court etc.
If you have assets in Canada it will probably effect your file there because of the interest from the OR.
If you do not have assets abroad then it is unlikely to effect your credit file in Canada
