Old bankruptcy from 1996, filed twice in two names within the same 6months, never had any contact with OR, they show on the register as Discharge Suspended Indefinitely, what will happen with the new rules coming in, will this discharge all |

Okay, thanks for that, at what point would an old bankruptcy become a criminal matter, bear in mind that this happened over 12 years ago and there has never been any contact. I am just trying to get an idea on the situation, I now live abroad, but would like to know what the worst could be.

Hi basically, if you dont contact them and cooperate then you may never be discharged.
I think that is what Paul is telling you. In order to be discharged you have to contact them and cooperate like i have said.
It is an old case that until the OR is satisfied then no it wont go away and will stay with you forever im affraid or at least until you have fulfilled the legal requirements that the OR expect of you.

when you say retain you in BR, this is forever, ie if you have never had any contact with OR and really do not intend to do so, what is the final situation.
This is from 1996, so odes this never go away if you do nothing?

Hi Paola and Welcome
Have you looked to see who your OR is as they may have you suspended discharge because they could not get hold of you and so the case is not closed.
You would need to look on the register and contact the OR dealing with it and then cooperate with them so that they may be able to close your file and then hopefully discharge you.

Not sure which new rules you are refering to.
However the OR can retain you in Br unless you cooperate fully with their enquiry.
