Thank you TD and John for such a quick response, I have read alot of postings on this site and it has been very supportive to know that you are not alone in this mad world of debt. It is a basic account with no DD facilities etc, every now and then my dad has credited the account with money upto £1,000 a time to help with living expenses. I was talking to a Debt Management Company and they said that I need to open an account in my name, don't know whether she was trying to get business from me because she said that they could do that for me, I just thought it would look suspicious if after 8 years not having an account in my name and then prior to bankruptcy I obtain one. I have no assets what so ever except my children

You can of course open a Coop Cashminder account and have your benefits paid in there. That you can yourself without any one helping you and you can keep track on line for payments etc.

I do hope that everything works out for you :-)
