Its better peace of mind to get it sorted out instead of letting it fester. Responsible, too. Tie up the loose ends.

Hi Scott

I am so glad that you found us and that we have started to help you in the road to a debt free life.

You take care and do keep posting.

Oh i just thought if you have a bank account you may have to change it and open maybe the Coop cashminder account as there could be a possiblity that the OR/Bank may close it.

Thankyou again Needafriend. Things are much clearer now about the plans I need to take and I will be calling an expert later today. I have been living abroad for a few months, in hiding I guess. I came home the other to see people for Christmas and decided lastnight that enough is enough and that I am not going back but instead will stay and get myself sorted out. This forum has been a big turning point for me.

Hi Scot

Firstly you need to be 100% sure that BR is your final option, if you feel it is then there are steps you will need to take to start the process.

You will need to fill in the forms, although quite easy to do some people need a little help with these so with this link you can start to fill them in, any questions post on here and we can all pitch in and help you out.

https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/

Once you have started these you will need to contact your local court to find out if you need to book in advance, how many copies they will need and also if you are able to get a reduction in the fee which is currently £495, if your on certain benefits then you can apply for a £150 reduction but you will need to check with the court first if you are eligable.

I would also give one of the other experts a call maybe the helpline 0800 078 9367 or just look on the left hand side of the page and you will find other experts that can go through your options in more detail with you.

Hope that helps.

Jo
