when I go bankcrupt and leave my mortgage house, am I allowed to take all the curtain polls and carpets etc?

i think the only things your not allowed to take is the light fittings and electric sockets etc and anything else that would leave the house dangerous if it was removed.

I cant see why not, you have to furnish another home so yes i would say.
I dare say the house providing it was not with carpets and curtains when you moved in and you put them there then the new owners would gut the place and make it there own anyway. So go for it i say.
