Posted - 03 January 2009 : 15:38:58 Hi Crockett
I had an account with Nat west, as soon as they got wind of my bankruptcy they promptly closed my account. The bank and not the OR, so it may be best to get a Coop account that way at least you should be safe.
If Natwest dont close the other one then you can reuse at a later date.
Best of luck

Posted - 03 January 2009 : 15:13:41 Hi,
I opened a natwest current account as soon as I was considering an IVA, no overdraft or cheque book just a debit card. I'm now considering bankruptcy instead. Would the OR freeze that account as well as my Lloyds one that I no longer use as I owe money? I have switched over my d/d and wages to the Natwest one so would I have to do all that again with another account? I owe no money to Natwest. |

Posted - 03 January 2009 : 11:33:23 Hi Juliet
Like Jo said open an account like the Co-op one. I went bankrupt in December and the OR asked about the account and we are still able to access it as we didn't have any debts with the Co-op.
Kind regards,

Posted - 03 January 2009 : 10:26:39 Hi Juliet and welcome
The best thing to do would be to open a new basic account like the Coop cashminder account and then usually the OR wont touch it and the bank wont freeze it either as they are BR friendly.
Hope that helps
