Posted - 05 January 2009 : 11:34:34 Hi all,
I went BR early August 08.
I'm paid 4-weekly (approx. £88 tax) and have only recently been switched to a NT code mid-way through my wage period.
As such, I paid £22 tax this wage period, and sent off my wage slip to Moonbeever with a letter asking how they want the rest of this period's tax.
They acknowledged that I'm on the NT code, but instead of asking for the rest of the tax back, they asked for further wage slips until I've paid no tax at all.
Does this mean the £66 pro-rata is mine to keep, or do you think it will be collected with next wage period's tax payment? I thought rather than call them, I'd see if anybody else has a similar experience.
Cheers. |

Posted - 05 January 2009 : 12:19:28 Thanks Jo,
I know what you mean, HMRC have taken ages to set the code, set it at a weird point in my wage period and Moonbeever have had to have 8 letters now (in 5 months). |

Posted - 05 January 2009 : 11:58:33 Hi Zamfir
Thats really weird the way they have done your tax as i would have thought it would be the whole of the 4 weeks.
I would at the moment keep hold of the extra £66 just incase as you never know when they might suddenly ask for it.
I would continue to send off the slips till you are on the NT code completely then they will send you details of where and how to send.
Other than that it just seems so strange.
