Posted - 05 January 2009 : 22:52:14 hi guys, went in and payed my fees to the estate agent who is dealing with are rented accomodation, the money was for the credit check....knowing it may have a few bad bits on it, i checked experian myself....it was worse than i thought, im in a dmp and althogh all my creditors accepted the offers, some of them have been declaring that i have missed a bunch of payments. that said, the wife called the estate agent today to see what position we were in and they said that the credit check had came back fine????? what is it they look for on your check? i thought for sure id fail! also i had a look on experian to make sure they had done a check but i cant find no evidence of it...does it take a few days to show up or something?

Posted - 06 January 2009 : 07:03:43 usually it is a credit "overview" because they are not a credit granting authority they can only get the big picture not the individual information on each creditor

with the DMP by definition you are not meeting the contractual payments so they would be recording these as missed payments even though you are making a revised monthly payment.
As far as the estate agent I have no idea what they were looking at. Perhaps they are looking at mortgage arrears or have contacted the previous landlord for a payment profile.
