Hi All,

I just applied on the telephone for the infamous "cashminder account" and was told it had to be refered and a decission would be made in 3 to 5 working days.

Thus far we are not BR but our credit score is likeley to be damaged as we are 3 months in arrears on our mortgage???

Is this normal or are decissions usually made there and then - I imformed them about the repossession and that we are going BR some time soon...

HELP - I'm worried and my wife has turned a very pale shade of white as we understood that no matter what a cashminder account was going to be avaialble.

Cheers

Tim

Hi all
Mine was reffered, as it was a telephone application,
I think that they just make some checks, on that you are who you say you are. otherwise you have to go into the bank with proof of ID

All the best

Thanks for the replies - I guess I'm panicing without cause but one does tend to be on heightened anxietey mode when you are carrying out the various stages of BR...

Hopefully we'll get the details through soon and all will be well - if not then I'll be back for more help!

Cheers

Hello Mr Guest, my husbands Co-op account application was referred to and the first he knew that it had been accepted was when the card and account details arrived.

working towards the first day of the rest of our lives

Hi my joint account as accepted same day but the single account was refered then a few days later it was up and running.

I would not worry though i think you will find its pretty standard.

Let us know how it all goes.

Hi Julian,

Few - thanks for this - I was very worried that a critical part of our plan had suddenley fallen through!

I guess we just have to sit tight and wait now.

If we are a first and do get refused is there any other bank that offers a similar product as cashminder - in this day and age its going to be a growing need!

Cheers

I wouldn't worry too much, it is just standard.

My application was originaly referred - although they will not refuse a basic bank account based on your credit score or bankruptcy, they do still carry out fraud checks.

Hi Tim,

Most people find that the Co-Op take 3-5 working days to approve this account, but I have yet to hear of an instance where it has been refused (even when the application has been made post-BR).
