am i correct in thinking that they are not allowed to contact my work to get in touch with me? (which they have done)

They can actually phone your work as you no doubt put the work details on the contact form when applying for the loan.

however they cannot harrass you at work , cause undue distress and alarm and create an environment that your job is at risk because of private calls.

you are better off asking them not to makecalls at workas you are not allowed to take personal calls - ask for your file to be updated and ank for the perosns name so you can have some comeback - also make a note of the time / date of the call so they can find it on their recording systems if you have to complain.

you should then ask for all communication to be made by post. if they are unable to confirm it is you on the phone throug security checks than they cannot speak to you on the phone - data protection.

The man from BBC "moneybox" on radio 4 confirmed again today that you should not give personal details out on the phone to anyone.

When "Steve" from X Bank phones and asks you to give your DOB , mothers maiden name etc etc how do you really know it is the bank.

Ask them politely to send a letter.

Hi Mac

The short answer is NO, they cannot do that.

Let rip and mention the administration of juctice act to them and if it continues you will be forced to inform the police.

LOL
