hi i am thinking of bankruptcy but not till feb/mar.problem is but inland revenue.they are now going for bailiffs to visit which happened before.my only way of paying at moment which i know is wrong is to get it off a card i have.how will this be seen thanks

Hi

the Inland Revenue do tend to be a little more forceful than most other creditors. If they decide to send bailiffs they are often difficult to persuade otherwise unless you pay them.

When you think about it, using a credit card to pay them is rather like a balance transfer in that you are not increasing your debt but passing it from one creditor to another.

If you wanted you could take the view that to owe a bank (a commercial enterprise) is better than owing HMRC as the funds they collect help to run the country.

On that basis I would go ahead providing you're not talking too large a sum whereby the credit card company lose out by too much.
