Posted - 14 January 2009 : 11:10:15 I currently do not reside in the UK but have circa 38,000 of debt in the UK that I am unable to pay. I have not made payment on these debts for approximately 6 month and think that my only way forward is to declare myself bankrupt. How do I go about declaring myself bankrupt when I am no longer resident in the UK. Also I have a divorce consent court order that states that I am liable for 26,340 pounds of the debt by order, will this effect my ability to be declared bankrupt?

I would sugegst contacting Paul Johns at Reviva (his details are on the experts page). Paul has a lot of experience in managing bankruptcies for people no longer resident in the UK.
