Posted - 14 January 2009 : 16:34:07 Hi
you can petition for Br in the UK for UK debts provided that :
You have lived in the UK within the last 3 years You don't live in the EU ( excluding Denmark)
The process is to complete the court forms and petition at the High Court in London. The fee for this is £507( it may increase after April 2009)
If you are unable to attend yourself you can have a family member, friend or professional representative petition on your behalf however they would need to have legal authority to act on your behalf.
This is done by submitting a Lasting Power of Attorney which gives your representative to act for you. These cost £150 to have authorised.
Which country do you live in?
