I took out a loan for £8,000 last year with northern rock. I was checking my credit report and the balance was over 11k! Unlike any other loan i've ever had, they show the amount borrowed plus interest in the balance. I should've noticed this when i signed the papers, i feel it's very unfair as anyone viewing my credit file sees this balance which if i payed the loan off early would not be the amount listed.

Anyone else had a similar thing?

I did not pay anything towards the CCJ, I just laid low and then went bankrupt soon afterwards

Sounds like a bargain

I guess they are under some huge pressure to repay the goverment the money they borrowed.

I had a £20,000 loan with NR once I had defaulted, they immediately demanded £30,000 for the interest too and then they went straight for a CCJ for a forthwith judgement of £30,500!!!
