Posted - 17 January 2009 : 10:25:12 My Husband has been declared Bankrupt and is in the process of filling in his forms for the OR!! We have had our bank accounts frozen already. The problem is we have a joint account with one Bank that my Husband got a loan with in his name and the credit card was in his name. When we got into trouble and payments were missed and we were about £200 overdrawn they consolidated the debt into one payment. The thing is they badgered us into doing this so we still had an account but that put my name on the whole debt. Does this mean now that my Husband is Bankrupt I'm liable for the whole debt? I do hope you can shed some light on this for me. Many Thanks

Unfortunately as the debt is considered Joint and Several it does mean that any joint debts are now fully payable by you.
