Hi

I rung orange gave all my account details and told them that im going BR, and they said if I can pay the bill their shouldnt be a problem, I pay them by Standing Order rather than Direct Debit,

Will I be allowed to keep the phone or is it the end and will they cancel the contract.

Thanks

The woman from Orange was dead nice, she said that they would put there claim immediatly into the bankruptcy estate, and that it seems silly to loose a customer, but they dont want the equipment back, she said it will be barred and cancelled but I may be able to reinstate it later on, (Dont think so), she said I could go pay as you go, but cant port the numbers. But she was really nice, which makes a change. And a free laptop and phone too lol

Ive just got a letter from Yorkshire Building Society they are trying to charge me £63 for arears in a policy for motor insurance which I didnt even take just got a quote, think I will ring them tomorrow and tell them about the BR, not sure if that goes on the forms, as it may be an error

Thanks Jo

Ive put the amount as £1900, it was for Orange internet and Orange Mobile both with insurance over 24 months both new contracts.

Their loss.

Ill feel strange at the moment, that this Bankruptcy has more pluses that negatives at the moment, not sure if thats me looking at this, on a weird slant or not

Hi Stu

Just wanted to apologise for earlier, i had 2 computers crash and i had to get them sorted out. They are all done now. Make sure you add up how many months are left ie: 12 x £30 = £360 and place that amount in the creditors sections with the wording cancelled phone contract due to Bankruptcy.

Best of luck and if you wanna call again your more than welcome :-)

Well I spoke to orange and they are going to bar and close the account the minute I go BR, They said I can keep the equipment but will get a bill which will be absorbed into the bankruptcy.

They told me to send them a copy of the bankruptcy letter I get from the courts and then they will liase with the official reciever.

Oh Well

Stu

Nothing is set instone im affraid. As for keeping the goods you should be ok, but with regards to the contracts not ending it is down to them.

It may be a case of call again or wait and see on this one.

Hey Stu

Yes maybe an anon call to them may be worthwhile, however i would try and speak with someone else rather than the people who initially answer the phone.

Im not too sure about the other things to be honest. The debt will fall into the br and i got to keep my phone, so i can only presume it is the same as they will not want second hand things back, plus you dont have the laptop anyway.

thanks Jenny,

they have just text me saying they have rejected my DDI details, funny enough im moving from Think to OneBanking so wont have DDIs to worry about. Should I ring them again and ask about BR.

If they close the accounts can I keep the phone and laptops

Hey Stu

Please be careful with Orange as i was told the same thing - then they cut me off once they found out.

I dont know if its their policy or not but i ended up getting a new number as they wouldnt let me keep my old one

Hi Jo

I do have an old defaulted account with them, with an outstanding balance of £118 which they never chased me for, and I didnt know about til i got my credit report last month.

I have two orange accounts one which is my mobile phone at£21 a month and my sisters laptop which I got her for xmas at £30 a month, the other is for orange broadband at £25 a month.

So can I trust what the customer service representative said.

Thanks

Hi Stu

How much do you pay per month? As long as you can afford to pay it and you have no debt with them then i would say you are ok, as Orange have said it would be ok too.
