Hi All, self petitioned for bankruptcy and declared yesterday (yay!), and of course today a County Court Claim Form arrives on the doorstep. Not concerned as the debt was listed and all, but after advice on the proper procedure to notify them.

I don't have my OR details yet, and was advised that interview would be about 3 weeks which is a bit long to wait, read through claim forms and nothing jumps out as the correct action for me to take. I could contact the claimants solicitor and/or call local OR office as someone will (just!) have my file by now, but am sure this has happened to someone on here before.

As an aside have applied to Co-Op for Cashminder which has been referred as expected, but I had Smile as a debtor so will post back with result as may help others.

Hi Andy

Congrats on your bankruptcy heres to your fresh start.

You will be able to search on the insolvency site in a few days and find your details there, it will also show your OR's office details too if you have not received any paper work from them.

Take care and good luck with the coop

Jo

Pretty much the lines I was thinking on, just checking in case there was some magic official route I was supposed to follow.

Will send a copy and give the OR a bell in the morning

Hi

as a courtesy, you could write to the claimant giving your bankruptcy details (photocopies of the declaration would be good) which will mean they can avoid any further unnecesary costs by no longer pursuing the claim. The OR will already be aware of the debt from the listing on the SoA.

Hey Andy and welcome to the club

Not sure if will be useful to you, but you could try finding your OR from the following link as it usually tells you which or's office deals with which county courts.

http://www.insolvency-service.co.uk/officemap.htm

I would just call them and inform them of your br number or you could wait till you get adress of your or and forward the letter on.

Good luck with the coop cashminder, im sure there will not be a problem as alot get referred nowadays.

Jenny

Onwards and Upwards is the way im going :-0)

From "Moneyworries" to "Movin On" in 3 months is fantastic :-))
