If your husband declares himself bankrupt then no, you will not be responsible for his debts. However if you have any joint debts then you will become liable or the whole amount - joint and seversl liability im afraid.
Only unsecured borrowings are included in bankruptcy.
Also do you own your own home and is there any equity ? does your husband have a car and if so how much is it worth.
