Hi all, as some of you know we both lost our jobs on christmas eve.
My questionis this,
Are we required to tell a prospective new employer that we ar UBR's by law?
The reason I ask is that we both decided that it would be better to be honest and upfront with any potential employer and tell them. This we have done and as soon as they hear this we are "shown the door"
We do not want to decieve anyone however, I am now of the understanding that if they do not ask I will not volunteer the information. I know we have a moral obligation to tell but do we have a LEGAL obligation as well.I have another interview arranged for Sunday and a telephone interview again this afternoon.
Throughout my working life I have found it sooooooooo easy to get a job when I dont want / need one, but now I need one its as though everything is stacked against us.
Thanks

Hi HM

As far as i am aware you only have to disclose that information if asked and if the job you are going to is one that has restrictions on you as an UBR.

I do hope that you get something sorted out and soon.

Hi Harbourmaster,

I am not sure that you have to volunteer the information unless they ask specifically. I know that the question is asked if you work in the Financial Services industry or if your job requires security clearance.
