Posted - 21 January 2009 : 12:55:44 im going bankrupt soon and i was wondering which bank will i be able to use. i am in bank of scotland and i know my easycash account will be frozen. but i also have the most basic account with the co-op, will ibe able to have my wages paid into my co-op account with no problems? thanks tim. |

You will have to declare your co-op cashminder account even if they are not being used.
Do you mean by fee that you might end up with a IPA. If all your wages is for essential living costs as you say then you should not get an IPA. You are allowed up to £99 of disposable income before being subject to an IPA.

There should be no problem in having your wages paid into your co-op bank account. The co-op cashminder account is bankrupt friendly so there should not be a problem with it, as long as the balance in that account is for essential expenditure.
When I went bankrupt I emptied all money from my accounts even my co-op account to be on the safe side, as I needed money for essential living costs. I then started using my co-op account again after about a month when things had calmed down a little.
