Posted - 22 January 2009 : 12:15:28 I had it all set in my mind to file BR but now I'm not so sure. I have accrued £30k debt basically through my own stupidity. I had an addiction which cost thousands, (now under control), I bailed my eldest daughter out so many times that we lived on credit cards, and with a huge guilt complex about my other children missing out on so much I spent far too much on Christmas. The point is now I'm scared of Bankruptcy because I don't want to end up in prison for my stupidity and because of mental health problems and being a single parent with young children I am unable to work at present and we don't live but I pay the bills out of benefits. What should I do?

There are lots of us in the same boat and BR is a scarey thing to do. Give the helpline a call and discuss your situation with them. It will help put your mind at ease and they will suggest the right course of action for you.
