Hi everyone,

I'm moving into a rented property next week and will be declaring BR march/april time.

The landlord doesn't know, but i am going to tell him closer to the time. However i'm worried that when i declare BR it will be flagged against his property and this may make him angry or decide to terminate my tenancy.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

There is no such thing (nor has there ever been) a "blacklist" ... this is an urban myth.

The way the credit reference agencies operate is to link financial information to surnames AND addresses.

Good point about financial disassociation.

Baxi - The landlord will be written to by the OR. As long as you have an AST in place (proper tennancy agreement) and are making your rental payments on time every month, there is nothing your landlord can do about it. Do check through your AST as it is not uncommon for some landlords to slip in a clause regarding BR.

Hi Br is not flagged on properties - people used to call them blacklisted. Instead they are now against an individual only.

If you have a partner they may want to be financially dissasociated so ot doesn't effect their credit file
