Sorry guys another question! I am going to submit my application with the letting agency on Saturday, they want to run credit check and employee reference check. I havent gone bankcrupt yet but it will be a matter of weeks now before i take the plunge. There will be defaults and missed payments on there but no CCJs. Has anyone had any problems with renting pre-bankcruptcy, or any problems once they have moved in and the landlord has been informed by the OR?

we moved into rented 6 weeks before BR and we were totally honest with the letting agents, we asked them to tell the landlord everything, which they did and were absolutely fine about it all, we didnt want any nasties sneaking up on us, REMEMBER YOU NEED TO PROTECT YOURSELF TOO, NOT JUST THE LANDLORD !!! I BELIEVE IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO BE UP FRONT :-)

moving forward to new beginnings

Get in quick and you should be fine. Landlord checks may not pick up arrears or defaults.

Check the contract for a bankruptcy clause. This is usually standard, but more to deal with rent arrears. If you have none most landlords (who aren't idiots) won't care once they realise they are still going to get paid.
