Hi Does anyone know if when you go bankrupt it is your full name address and occupation that is posted in your local paper? Do i need to open a co-op cash minder account before i go bankrupt and already have my dd and so's changed? Really nervous about this have told a couple of close friends and they ave been quite shocked and not very supportive, feel like a bit of a failure and end up trying to explian myself to them. Oh well will be over soon.

Hey Laura

I would not worry about these people looking in the paper for people who go br .....they clearly need some gossip for that day!! They probably would never say it to your face - if they ever go quiet when your around keep your head held high - you are not a criminal and have been responsible in admitting you need help.

I was really dreading it and to be honest not 1 person has approached me or said anything to me, it may even go in a paper you dont expect it to.

Hi

which area of the country are you in. In some areas the ORT insists on all bank accounts being closed - even though the COOP want to keep it open -and ask that you reapply to the bank.

This happens on Brighton.

We may already know the answere or you may want to have a chat with the local OR's office to make sure the account will be OK.

If your friends aren't supportive when you need them then maybe they are not as close as you first thought. There is just too much happening these days to be judgemental about.

Some of the nicest and most sincere friends I have are acutally ex clients and I am delighted to be able to call them friends.

Hi lauraj, we are in the middle of deciding whether going bk or not, I was worried about telling brother, as he always thought I had my head 'screwed on' but when I have mentioned it to him and a couple of close friends they have been very supportive.

I have gained alot from joining this site, no-one judges you and are there to help and support you.

ok firstly you dont need to explain yourself to anyone s**t happens, we all try our best but sometimes our best is just not good enough !!

i personally think its best to get your co-op account up and running thats what we did and they are BR friendly so shouldnt freeze it after.

and yes ALL details are put in the local paper, ours were im affraid

moving forward to new beginnings
