I have not made many post on this site but want to send a quick re-assurance to anyone worrying about BR. GO FOR IT!!
My story is a typical one. I overspent on credit and financed (without me knowing), an alcoholic 1st wife. After years of worry and sleepless nights I went BR kast Feb owing a total of £140k. Forgetting the mortgage my outgoings were over £2k per month and I was drowning. At one point considered suicide

Now I am about to be discharged and feel great! The year has flown by. I have an IPA which I pay £250 a month into and thats it no hassle no phone calls no threat letters. Even the postman has commented about how little mail I no receive. When I told him he laughed as he went through it 2 years earlier Being Bankrupt is no longer a stigma and believe me more and more people are going there. I kept my Audi A6 (in wifes name. She also bought my interest in the house for £1. Nobody visited my home, and I had 1 50 Min phone call with the OR in Whitstable. Even the Nationwide has been great. I have been told that because I pay over £3k per month into my account and have an excellent record with them, they have already told me that I will get a notmal account once dicharged.
I urge anyone contemplating BR...Do it and start to live again it is the best thing (apart from divorcing my first wife, I have ever done

That's a great story and well done!

I have a Nationwide account and it is nice to think they would give you an upgraded account. One day we might need another mortgage so it will be interesting if they are helpful there, too.

Hey, that postman's arm is probably not acheing so much from not having to shove all those debt collectors letters through your letterbox!

Well done 'donememoney' its posts like this that actually help others in a similar position to get their heads out of the sand and take steps to sort their own problems.
As someone who spends all thier time advising people of solutions it lovely to hear such positive comments as to how you actually feel having taken the plunge!! I try to advise people that they will feel this way, but most of the time it falls on deaf ears - coming from someone first hand is brilliant - to anyone out there reading this post and in a similar position - take heed - it is no where near as bad as you imagine!
