I will tell you one thing, though.
i know a solicitor who was done for drink driving and was still allowed to continue practising.

the only times you are restricted from certain professions are when you are an undischarged bankrupt (which lasts for 12months, or less if granted an early discharge), if your receive a BRU or BRO, or if you receive a director's ban.
However, the legal profession itself may have additional restrictions for ex bankrupts. You would need to check that possibility.
