I no longer live in the UK but have some debts there I would like to clear. I do not however have a very high income and cannot travel to the UK, is there a way of managing this remotely? Thank you.

Hi rob

yes there is but it can be expensive, depending on exactly where you are in the world and for how long you have been abroad, this option may not be open to you anyway.

Costs are approx - £150 to pass a lasting power of attorney to another person who may then act on your behalf. £507 cost to petition the High Court.
If you have a friend or family member willing to do this then that's pretty much it. If you engage a professional you can double the figure, at least.
