Posted - 15 February 2009 : 17:20:36 It is better, tbh we were told a year ago we ought to go BR, but wanted to try and make it work, but it hasnt. Waiting on pay day now to get the rest of the funds, hoping to go to court around the 4-6th of march. |

Posted - 15 February 2009 : 16:35:30 That much be such a relief for you. Have you got a date for your BR yet? Sorry if you've already said but I'm a bit behind with the posts!

Posted - 15 February 2009 : 15:49:32 Sorry *hugs* I misread it.
Yup, we've now started buying the things we need (decision was only made on tuesday though), and it's much better. Not having to raid the biscuit tin at work to be able to have anything for lunch :S |

Posted - 15 February 2009 : 15:44:45 Sorry Sparkle, my comment wasn't directed at you. I was replying to a comment about making sure that you don't end up with more than a small amount of disposable income and therefore avoid an IPA. I should have made that clear.
You need to put down what you realistically will be spending as you obviously can't go on living as you are. Now that you aren't paying creditors are you using the money to have a better quality of life?

Posted - 15 February 2009 : 15:32:50 problem for us is that we've pared down everyhing we possibly could, eg only eating one meal a day, never having fruit and veg etc, asking friends and family to wash/dry clothes for us to save on electric, never aving any heating because we couldnt afford to. So what we have been using is unrealistic for actual quality of life. |

Posted - 15 February 2009 : 14:02:57 When you are compiling your I & E you need to put down what you actually spend. The guidelines are purely that - guidelines.
The idea is not to inflate your expenditure to avoid an IPA/IPO!

Posted - 14 February 2009 : 10:49:34 Yes have listed as above for my review, on initial IPA I just upped my housekeeping to include internet and sky, all the rest I listed separately (lumped together as other but had to show breakdown) but have had a payrise of £1000 since and my rent came down as current IPA is set at £200 and discharge is due 5th March so expecting increase of IPA have sky sports depending on increase may have to ditch that, I think each OR is different as long as you dont go overboard and are reasonable with expenses they are ok, my prescription is for asthma inhalers.

Posted - 13 February 2009 : 22:40:12 jurgenpie: did you list them all seperately for satellite tv, internet as well? did they agree these easily? did you list any health conditions that helped (father in law was told sky was allowable because he's disabled and nearly housebound when he did his) |

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/Ch25-36/Chapter31/part7/part7/part_7.htm (see link to Household Expenditure Spreadsheet)
It should show you what you can put down for essential items and help make sure you don't end up with more than a small amount of disposable income in order to avoid an ipa/ipo. |
