Hi

Good luck for tomorrow

You do only need one set of the documents, you will usually see the judge at southend but that is really to make sure you know what you are doing and that you are OK,

After the judge grants the order you will need to wait for the clerk to type up the order then you will walk down the road to Century House on Clifftown Road ( about 1 minute walk) where you will have a 15 minute chat with the OR,

Absolutely nothing to worry about, you will be fine I am sure

Phoned the court and they said I only needed 1 set!
Might take extras "just in case", its only wasted ink at home.

Thank you all for your good wishes, any other advice is always welcome, if only someone could tell how to stop the nerves...
xx

I would make sure you have enough copies of your forms with you as the courts seem to charge a fortune to copy them - they charged me £7 per set!

Good luck for Thursday x

I cannot help specifically with Southend but you could go to thie following link to see what the procedures are and, indeed, find out tons of stuff aobut every aspect of the bankruptcy process and the way it is handled;

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/default.htm

For example, as regards, debtors petition there is 12.49-53 at this link;

http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/Ch1-12/Chapter12/part4/part_4.htm

They will make copies for you if you need them to.

You probably won't see a judge but thats not to say it definitely won't happen.

You will probably be handed a letter stating that a telephone interview will be scheduled for a few days later in which the examiner form the OR will go through your petition line by line.

They will probably not be too judgmental.

You might need to hang around the vicinity of the court all day.

Don't take out any loans or go to the bookies while you are waiting (!)

Don't say anything about early discharge, income payment orders or bankruptcy restrictions orders as you don't want to be putting ideas into their heads.

Just make sure everything is as accurate as possible on your SOA.

You will get through

consilio et animis

Good luck.

Hi Leahk

Can not help you on Southend CC, as I was at Chelmsford CC,
The first thing I would say is "Don't panic." You will be suprised how well you are treated, after all you are not a criminal,
The Or in southend seem to be OK, very pleasant and very helpful.
Good Luck for Thursday

All the best

Leakie
