Hiya, sorry to ask yet another question.

We owe about 17,000 overall, which is split to about 10k in his name, 7 in mine. We have laid out our plans and gotten paperwork for bankruptcy, but should we be looking at DRO instead?

will the DRO still cover all the same debts as in BR? Will all the things we have in terms of assets (old laptops, games consoles etc) still not be of significant value? Does the I&E get worked out the same?

We have a CAB appt on thursday anyway, but a little advice on what is the right route for us would help.

we already had an appt set up for thurs to complete the BR forms, so hopefully they can give us more info, though tbh I'm not keen on waiting so long now that we've made the decision.

What are the positives of DRO instead? We had a tax rebate which we will use towards BR fees, so the £990 (both of us going BR) isnt that big a worry.

Hi Sparkle83 make an appointment with your local Citizens Advice Bureau they will go through the forms for DRO with you and if you qualify you can then proceed from 6th April with a DRO - if however you do not qualify for a DRO they can advise you and assist with the BO forms. Either way with your relatively low level of debt they will be able to help and give advice

Hi

all the above are worked out in the same way but you must have £50 or less disposable income each month.

There is usually never a rush to petition for br so get it double checked with the CAB and wait until April to see how the land lies
