Posted - 18 February 2009 : 11:34:07 Sorry to ask this again, but still not clear..If my bank account was frozen after bankruptcy, what happens to my wages and direct debits? Bank account is not linked to any debt, and is basic account with no overdraft facility. Surely if I have to pay IPA (or whatever it's called) those payments would need to be set up on standing order from bank account too.

Posted - 18 February 2009 : 13:54:56 If you have a basic bank account that is not linked to any of your creditors there is no need to actually list this on your forms which state 'list all bank accounts' this part of the form actually refers to accounts where you owe money ie overdraft or is linked to other debts. When you have the appointment with the OR you can state that you have a bank account for wages etc that is not on the forms, they will ask for statements to confirm no overdraft but other than that no problem. By dealing with the account in this way (provided it is not linked to any of your creditors) you save yourself the hassle of waiting to have the account unfrozen as any account notified to the OR will get frozen as a matter of course.
