Posted - 21 February 2009 : 22:13:49 I couldn't get the Cashplus card either. They wanted me to provide ID, which I didn't have so I didn't bother with it in the end.

Posted - 21 February 2009 : 17:51:48 I wasn't refused the card it just said my bank had not authorised the direct debit payment method and to try another card. I have two current accounts so tried the other card and that came back not authorised by my bank. I am not BR and do not have a bad credit rating....well not yet
I'll try again perhaps the banks were having a bad day. |

Posted - 21 February 2009 : 16:22:00 I'm talking about the Paypal prepaid card which is guaranteed acceptance.
Paypal also do a credit card, so that would possibly be why you were refused.

I applied for this card yesterday and it was all fine. They say 100% acceptance guaranteed. Try again as I am sure it will be fine |

Posted - 21 February 2009 : 16:02:44 I applied for the Paypal card but was rejected. Possibly to do with fact that at my BR I owed RBS £20K+.....

Posted - 21 February 2009 : 14:08:14 I have a Paypal card, no monthly charges and no transaction fee if you use the card in this country. Costs £1 to load the card at the post office, but nothing if you transfer from a Paypal account. I think there is a fee if you withdraw cash though.
I use it all the time for internet purchases.

Posted - 21 February 2009 : 00:03:07 I decided to check out the link and saw that the Cashplus Gold Premier was offering the card for £4.95 instead of the usual £29.95 and there was no % for using it online or withdrawing cash. So thinking ahead, I decided it might be a good idea to apply for one, I filled in all the details needed and took the option to use a debit card to transfer funds, I have a Nationwide flex account but that was refused, I am not in trouble with the NW and no letters have been sent to them from the CAB...so I tried my First Direct one......same it was refused and I am not in trouble with them either, my salary is paid into my FD account and I have never been in OD until this month but it was still within my OD limit. So I cancelled the whole process. Has anyone else had the problem? |

Posted - 20 February 2009 : 16:35:58 You need to think about what you want to use the card for. Some cards (e.g. Tuxedo) allow you to have your salary paid onto the card. You pay a fixed monthly fee for some cards, but others are pay as you go.
Check all the fees as well as some are higher than others. If you want to withdraw money from the card using a cashpoint you need to compare those fees as well.
