Posted - 23 February 2009 : 15:38:28 each payment you make is one more step to a debt free future! try to think postive in that way rather than oh gawd another payment to the OR - i had one client who looked on it from the persepective of one less threatening phonecall or letter and kept positive all the way through, although it seems tough to have an IPO when others don't but try to focus on your own particular circumstances, either way it one hell of a lot less than you were paying before!!!! Getting through this process without it bringing you down is hard to do but it will be easier to cope with if you stay positive hark at me I sound like I 'knit yogurt!!!! or hug trees.... which i can assure you I most definatly don't!

Posted - 23 February 2009 : 14:17:05 It does go quickly though - I make my 21st payment this week, and being able to say I finish paying next year helps!
I broke it down into targets to make it easier:
6th payment 12th payment (1 year down) 18th payment (halfway) 24th payment (1 year to go) 30th payment (nearly there!)

Posted - 23 February 2009 : 11:40:47 Don't worry they will be in touch as and when they have completed the paperwork enquiries on your file. They won't back date the payment so don't panic

Posted - 23 February 2009 : 10:43:08 It took nearly 3 months from the date of my interview to the date of the first payment. I actually chased them as I knew I had an IPA and wanted to start paying ASAP!
It may take longer at the moment as the collection agency for IPA payments is changing from Clarke Willmott to Moon Beever, and they are in the process of migrating all CW payments across.
