Posted - 02 March 2009 : 13:31:00 I wonder if someone could advise me on filling out the SOA form regarding the employment section? It asks for the current income tax reference number. Would this be the one on my payslip which says "543L"? That is the tax code on my payslip although looking on my P60, it gives the employer PAYE reference, which is different. Not sure which one I need to put down on the SOA form.
Please help!

Posted - 03 March 2009 : 11:30:27 Thank you Melanie. I am just worried I am giving the wrong information. I will give the employer PAYE reference number as you suggested.
Thank you very much.

Posted - 03 March 2009 : 10:56:46 Hello John,
My HR department has just got back to me and informed me my tax code is 603L. Does that sound right? The only other reference number I have on my P60 is the employer PAYE reference. There is no other 'current' income tax reference number as far as I can see. I've also tried contacting the tax office in cardiff, but they are constantly busy and disconnect me. I have been trying to get hold of them for the past 24 hours. My court hearing is tomorrow and I need this information to be correct by today.
Any advice?

Posted - 02 March 2009 : 16:38:25 I thought that and I have emailed them asking for the information. I'm also trying to contact the tax office, but they are constantly engaged. Sorry to sound so dim and thanks for the advice. |

if you do not have it to hand ask your employer's HR / wages department.

Posted - 02 March 2009 : 15:45:04 Thanks John, but where on earth do I get that number from? |

Posted - 02 March 2009 : 13:47:03 Hi
it is your unique tax reference number that's required not the "543L" current code.
