Posted - 03 March 2009 : 15:19:05 I've got my court hearing on Tuesday. I'm a pension with only my state pension. I have a car worth £1000 which I use to visit my grandchildren. Will I be made to sell it? |

Posted - 03 March 2009 : 16:04:26 I'm a bit confused now. I have a car which is 13 years old and probably only worth £600 at best. I've been given differing opinions on whether I'll be able to keep it or not. Some say I will as its below £2000, while others say unless its for work/essential use, then I won't be able to keep it even if its only worth £100. I don't use my car for work, but I do use it to visit my elderly mother, and use it to do the shopping for her, etc.
Can anyone say whether there are any fixed rules about this or is it purely dependant on the attitude of the OR?
