Posted - 03 March 2009 : 18:55:37 hallo, im going for my court date this friday and im so so nervous, after reading alot of the others experience it sounds like its not going to be as bad as it is. a few questions, im filling out my statement of account and got a slight headache its going ok but a few questions please
1. im abit confused with assets that i own, i only have the basic things like furniture, computer, tv, bedding, it says dont put it if its not valuable but should i just put them on my list im not sure coz it says you must write everything you own??
2. im doing the form online and its not allowing me to write in 'estimate dates' for when i incurred my debts ie some credit cards that i have i can estimate the date only? i dont have the initial date, ive tried looking on my credit report but for some reason they not on there??.
3. i did own a motorvehicle 3 years ago, do i have to include that on question no. 3.5 on assets where it says in the last five years .... i had this vehicle sorn and scrapped?
4. when i see the official receiver to hand over paperwork, how much do i need is it 6 months, 1 year or more of all my statements and accounts?
im sorry to ask so many questions just want to make sure my form is correctly done and things go smoothly because its been a really rough time for me hence ive gone this route.
thanking you in advance helen |

Posted - 04 March 2009 : 15:56:42 Hi....I went to court last friday. I didn`t need an appointment. I was surprised about how easy it went...the judge didn`t pass comment, apart from wishing me luck io the future...so DON`T worry about that bit...it`s a real breeze!. The bit to worry about is the O.R., or Jacob Marley, as i call them!. I heard from mine today, and is going to send me a request for information, and has arranged to phone me next thursday. Must admit...I am a tad worried about her, taking my `56 Cadillac :-( Oh, well....soon be over. |

Posted - 04 March 2009 : 11:09:08 We spoke to the OR the same morning (bout 50 mins after seeing the judge, once the BR notice had been faxed to them). He rang us at the court office, and we went through a couple of quick questions regarding cars, assets, and bank accounts... were only on the phone with him about 10 mins (for both of us!)
We didnt take any paperwork other than petition and SOA, didnt need anything else, no ID or anything.
The OR will send out our paperwork and list of wht they need in the next 2 weeks, and then arrange proper interview.
hope this helps |
