Posted - 10 March 2009 : 16:26:04 Hi we are going to be applying for BR in about 6 weeks. I am trying to get to know as much as possible as to what will happen.
I have read you need to give a I&E list to see if you have to pay towards a IPA or IPO. Could someone look at this list for me to see if its seems ok and if there are things on there that will not be allowed. Thanks
We are a family of 3, two adults and a 9 year old daughter.
Mick
Ok our income is

I think I have read gym memberships will not be allowed but what about kids karate and the domestic break. Never thought you could claim for them but have seen people but kids activieties down and money for breaks.
Also these are as near as possible as to what I think we spend a month. Do they seem reasonable and are there any guidelines.
Thans for your help

Posted - 11 March 2009 : 16:33:20 Thanks John. I never thought you would be able to claim for a break and feel quite embarrased to do so after the debts that will be wiped off. Thanks for your help |

Posted - 11 March 2009 : 16:25:56 Hi
children's activities are claimable within reason and I would say £24 per month is bordering on the maximum.
Gym memberships will not be allowed but you can pay out of the proportion of DI which you retain.
For a domestic break for 3 people £60 per month may be claimed.
Housekeeping for 2 adults and 1 child should be approx £450 per month.
Child allowance must be listed in the appropriate part of section 6 but it will not be included as income when the OR contemplates any IPA proposal.

Posted - 10 March 2009 : 16:45:08 Not too sure, I wasn't allowed for internet, they may say you need to pay your mobiles or internet etc. out of whats left of your disposable income if you get an IPA/IPO.
I was allowed mobile because I didn't have a house phone so I just put it down as telephone.
Also I am not too sure what happens when its a internet/tv/phone package, Im sure someone will be along to help you soon.

Posted - 10 March 2009 : 16:41:27 Hi Maizie the contents insurance and water rates are included in the rent.
if I up my telephone to include the mobiles that will come to about £80 per month. Is that not a bit high and would I not have to inform them anyway that part of that total is mobile, internet and tv aswell as house phone.
Thanks

Posted - 10 March 2009 : 16:35:54 Hi
Just a couple of things I noticed. I was the only one that went bankrupt and I was allowed £30 dentist. You haven't put down contents insurance or anything for water bills. Gym membership more than likely won't be allowed nor will mobiles as you have already claimed for telephone unless you up your telephone to include that.
Not sure about kids karate.
Put it this way, if you don't ask you don't get, just make sure you are honest with your expenditure. Hope this helps a little bit.
