I have just been to the Bankruptcy hearing and found the Judge signed it off without seeing me so that was good. The OR office that spoke to me afterwards said they would be in touch in 4-6 weeks is that usual? Maybe it is because my bank accounts are not overdrawn or I am unemployed?

I asked about a car I had on HP and they did noy know the answer perhaps someone does. I had a car on HP with Welcome Finance and asked them to collect it weeks ago and it is now outside the house with no tax or insurance. Who is resonsible for it? I can't afford to tax and insure it and they won't collect it. The OR said they don't know and they will not have interest in it, but any money I owe will go into the Bnakruptcy.

Also could I get a friend to offer Welcome Finance say £500 for it as it will only go to auction and it will save them the trouble!

Sorry that is 3 questions

Thanks for the advise. I have no way of taking the car off the public highway as I don't have a drive! I have explained this to the HP company.

the time it takes for the OR to schedule your interview will depend on the workload of your particular office. Don't worry they will be in touch soon enough.

Until a legal change of ownership has taken place the car should be taxed and insured by you, if not then it must be removed from the public highway.

Any offer to the lender would depend on the value of the car, the amount you owe on finance and of course the offer itself.

Hi there and welcome to the forum, the experience you had withe the court and the OR is the current practice ie not seeing the Judge etc and having to wait for the OR's telephone appointmnt, and is down purely to volume of work. So no need to worry

With regard to the car I would ring Welcome FInance and inform them that you are now bankrupt and any debt you now have with the (for remainder of HP ect will come into the bankruptcy) and that they should make arrangements to collect the vehicle, this should kick them into action!

If you wish to doscuss with them someone purchasing the vehicle - just ask them, the worst they can say is no

Hope this helps
