Posted - 20 March 2009 : 20:58:09 I was made bankrupt yesterday by a creditors position issued as a result of the failure of my IVA. I entered the IVA at the same time as a family partnership (in which I was a partner)went into a PVA - the IVA was based on my drawings from the partnership which failed despite the sale of our family home in an attempt to save it. It has been an extremely long drawn out saga over 5 years in fact. I left the employment of the parthership in March 2007 and was in full time employment,
I am relieved that at last it is coming to an end but the IP who dealt with the PVA and IVA has been far from helpful and I am feeling a little unsure. It seems that most people ahve filed for thier own BR but is the procedure with the OR the same because I have not done an SOA or anything. We now live in rented accomodation (rent £1140 per month) and I was made redundant at the end of February so have had no income for the past three weeks although I hope to have a job starting mid April. We have two adult children living at home (one of whom is a student who we are expected to partialy support in view of our earnings during the 07/08 tax year!) I am anxious about what I will need to get together for the OR> can anyone help me please?

Posted - 20 March 2009 : 22:51:58 Hi
someone from the Official Receiver's Office allied to the court in which you were declared bankrupt will be in touch.
They will send out a PIQB which is much the same as an SoA which you will need to complete and send back within the alloted time. (Can't remember the time allowed to do this but think it is 14 to 21 days). Also sent out with the PIQB will be some guidance brochures.
You should receive these anytime within the next few weeks. You should also get together latest statements for your bank accounts, loans and credit cards and your rental agreement.
Details of any pensions and insurances would also need to be at hand as you will need all this info when completing the forms.
