Posted - 23 March 2009 : 09:12:51 As of Today I am a discharged bankrupt and wow how tha year has flown. I would advise anyone who is worried and losing sleep/ sanity to seriously consider BR as an option just over a year ago I was suicidal with worry and received around 20 threat letters a day. Now I get none and when the odd collections agency does contact me with a veiled threat of one kind or another , the feeling telling them to "S-d off " is one of the best in the world. I do however had one question for the team.....
Since declaring Bankruptcy my BI was purchased by my wife for £1 and she is now the sole owner of the house. Our Mortgage thanks to interest rate cuts has gone from £1278 per month to £255, yes £255 per month thank to being a tracker with C& G (Oh how Lloyds, C & G owners must hate me) as they lost £41K BR!. We still have a Joint Mortgage and are not in any form of arrears at the moment. I no longer live with my wife for vairious unrelated reasons. I have tried to get removed from the Mortgage as a Bankrupt but C & G refuses to do this.
If in the future the mortgage falls into arrears, will I be liable for any shortfall as I have nothing to do with the house any longer and the debts etc were pre Bankruptcy. How can I get removed from this joint mortgage when I am no longer any part of living in the house and have no equity in it? Advice would be very much appreciated.
